College of Education

About the College

The College of Education, one of eight colleges in the university, offers undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare its students for work in public education, in community agencies, and in higher education. Programs are developed in collaboration with departments across the campus and with professionals in the field of education. The College is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education; its programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and other specialized professional associations; and the counselor education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. The College of Education and its three departments offer a comprehensive degree program which includes four majors for the bachelor of science in education degree, a master of arts in teaching degree, eight master's of education degrees, four education specialist's degrees, and two doctor of education degrees.
