Advisement

  1. If a person already holds a T-4 certificate or higher, he/she is advised by faculty in the appropriate department for add-on certification or for a graduate degree program.

  2. Individuals who are seeking initial T-4 certification are advised by the Student Success Center's staff.

  3. The College offers the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) and certificate programs for individuals who already have a degree but are not certified to teach.

A person who has a college degree but is not certified to teach needs to have his/her transcript(s) evaluated by Chris Thompson, the Certification Officer. Request forms for a transcript evaluation are available in the SSC or online at this link. The cost is $25 for the first evaluation and $10 for each subsequent field. After the transcript evaluation, the person applies for admission to the College of Graduate Studies as either a degree or non-degree student and, in the acceptance letter, will be informed of his/her assigned advisor.
