Partnership Council

The Partnership Council is concerned with all matters related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Partner School, Clinical Associate, and Clinical Supervisor programs. It recommends to the Dean, by way of the appropriate Associate Deans, policy and procedural changes as well as recommendations for new Partner School, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Supervisor programs. Members will bring forward issues related to these programs to be addressed and will be responsible for keeping their departments, program areas, and school systems informed.

The charge of the Partnership Council includes such activities as

  1. Recommending and reviewing processes and procedures related to selection and implementation of Partner Schools, Clinical Associates, and Clinical Supervisors
  2. Planning and recommending Partner Schools.
  3. Addressing issues related to the implementation of the programs.
  4. Recommending professional development for Partner School faculty, and GSU faculty in support of these programs
  5. Promoting cohesiveness between field experiences and Georgia Southern's educator preparation programs.
  6. Revising and supporting COE Unit assessment components related to Partner School, Clinical Associate, and Clinical Supervisor programs.

The Partnership Council membership will include all undergraduate and graduate educator programs for the College of Education and six P-12 administrators/Clinical Supervisors. Ex-officio members will include the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Teacher Education and Associate Dean of Graduate, Research, and Sponsored Programs & Development. The Council will be chaired by the Director of Field Experiences and Partnerships.
