Special Education Transition Specialist Endorsement-Online

A graduate certificate in Special Education Transition provides an endorsement for your certification or eligibility in special education. This program begins once each year in the Fall semester and features four online courses for completion. Included in the requirements for the Master of Education in Special Education degree, this is the only state-approved program offered by a university in the state of Georgia.

State Authorization to provide a program related to the preparation of professionals may not indicate eligibility for certification/licensure in your state. Please consult the appropriate certification/licensure office in your state before enrolling in our program to confirm that your completion of this program will meet your state requirements.

Program Features

The Special Education Transition Specialist Endorsement program is designed for individuals already holding or eligible for a clear, renewable T-4 or higher certificate in special education. This is the only state-approved Special Education Transition Specialist Endorsement program offered by a university in Georgia.

You may be eligible to qualify for financial aid because this endorsement is a stackable program that begins the Master of Education in Special Education program.

Program Outcomes

This program develops highly skilled special education transition specialists who can demonstrate and explicitly explain:

  • career development and transition planning for students with special needs.
  • the vocational assessment for students with special needs.
  • interagency planning and service for students with special needs as they transition to adulthood.
  • appropriate community environments, methods for linking community based instruction, and the interagency agreement methodology for preparing students with multiple and severe disabilities for adulthood.
