Randal D. Carlson, Ph.D.

Dr. Carlson has been with Georgia Southern since 1995. He received his Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering in 1966 at the United States Air Force Academy, his Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering in 1967 at Purdue University, and his PhD in Instructional Systems in 1993 from Penn State University. He also spent 25 years as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force before retiring in 1991.
In addition to his duties as Department Chair, Dr. Carlson teaches in the Instructional Technology program. He specializes in instructional design, evaluation, and the instructional use of emerging technology.
