Basic Skills Math Instructor

Salary: $33,000.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope seeks a creative and experienced full-time Basic Skills Math instructor who is committed to community college teaching and student success.
A successful candidate will posses the following characteristics:
Training and/or experience working with at-risk or under-prepared mathematics students.
Training and/or experience in curriculum development, instructional material development, and course assessment.
Training and/or experience in and a commitment to using a variety of teaching modalities.
A strong commitment to basic skills mathematics instruction as a career.
A commitment to a team-work approach to student success.
Skills to teach Math for Teachers I and II desired but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach Basic Math, Introduction to College Math, Elementary Algebra, College Life Skills, and other math courses as assigned.
Serve as an academic advisor to basic skills students.
Work closely with tutoring staff and other College personnel to promote student success.
Serve on department and university committees.
Participate in professional development.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Developmental Education, Adult Education, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent education, training, and experience as determined by the College academic administration.
Minimum of three (3) years experience teaching basic skills math or adult education math in a community college preferred.
Start Date: July 1, 2008
