MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES: INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR [#C09-032]
The Department of Mathematical Sciences seeks a tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor to help coordinate and teach mathematics courses in beginning and intermediate algebra, provide resources and support for beginning and intermediate algebra instructors, research the effectiveness of the beginning and intermediate algebra program along with other appropriate scholarship, and provide service to the department and the university. We are particularly interested in hiring a faculty member with active scholarly interests aligned with developmental mathematics and/or mathematics education.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in mathematics, or mathematics education; and at least two-years of full-time experience (or equivalent) teaching beginning and/or intermediate algebra at the college level required. Earned doctorate degree or the equivalent of a sixth-year certificate in mathematics education (or related field), completion of one-year of courses at the post-masters level in mathematics or mathematics education, published research aligned with mathematics education, at least five-years of full-time experience (or equivalent) teaching beginning and/or intermediate algebra at the college level, or have experience in training and coordinating mathematics tutors preferred.
