Reading Faculty Position (Learning Support)

Darton College, Albany, GA

Salary:

Duties/Responsibilities:  

·   Teaching learning support reading courses (summer teaching optional).

·   Advising an assigned group of students

·   Participating in division and college committees and projects

·   Participating in community activities

·   Continuing professional growth and development

·   Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required:

·   Master's degree in reading with at least 18 graduate semester hours or 27 graduate quarter hours in the discipline

·   Full-time experience teaching in a community college or university setting

·   Experience teaching reading

·   Commitment to the teaching and learning process in a two-year community college

·   Computer literacy and willingness to use technology in classroom instruction

Preferred:

·   Doctorate in reading or literacy

·   Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours or 27 graduate quarter hours in English

·   Preparation and willingness to teach distance learning classes

Contract Provisions:

·   Full-time, tenure track position available August 16, 2008 

·   Rank: Instructor or Assistant Professor

·   Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

    ·  Faculty receive all benefits provided by the University System of Georgia, including hospital and major medical insurance, group life insurance, Georgia Teachers' Retirement System, Social Security, liability insurance, and Workman's Compensation
