Commensurate with experience

This position acts as the central resource where students, instructors, staff, and other interested parties may access information concerning developmental classes.

• Provide instructional design assistance for faculty and program development
• Develop and oversee all program activities and objectives
• Prepare executive summaries of developmental program evaluations
• Participate in special projects at the request of the VP for Academic Affairs
• Coordinate faculty development for developmental education
• Communicate with full-time faculty in Math and English departments to assess effectiveness of course content and developmental program
• Observe and evaluate instructors teaching developmental courses
• Facilitate program review for developmental courses
• Research and implement best practices in developmental education
• Track developmental student success rates and retention rates
• Collaborate with student advising and student services
• Develop and manage program budget
• Comply with all report requests and data management
• Disseminate program formative and summative evaluations
• Build relationships with academic departments and programs
• Collaborate with the Summer Bridge Program and student recruitment activities
• Teach two developmental classes per academic year
• Other duties assigned

• Ph.D. in Developmental Education preferred or minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Curriculum, Instructional Design, or an area specifically related to developmental education with extensive experience. At least 18 graduate hours in English, Math, Reading, or Education.

• Three years of developmental teaching experience with emphasis on curriculum design and/or educational programs for post-secondary education.

• Experience in facilitating and working with groups in developing outcomes related educational programs.

• High proficiency in data-entry and document preparation (MS Word, etc.)

• Excellent oral communication, writing, and editing skills. Strong attention to detail

• Ability to collaborate with diverse constituencies

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations and policies concerning developmental courses and core first-year classes.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding and consideration to the needs of students with regard to issues related to developmental courses.
