Duties:
Reports to Director of Rutgers-Camden
Learning Center. Delivers learning assistance to students through personalized
programs of academic self-improvement and group workshops. Maintains accurate
records on individual and group users. Interacts with academic departments,
advisors, and student service programs; conducts outreach presentations on
learning center services, learning strategies, and other areas of student
academic support. Oversees the academic coaching program. Refers students with
disabilities to appropriate campus or university offices and provides learning
support for those students as identified.
Requirements: Requires a bachelor\'s degree in psychology, counseling, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience. Master\'s degree in an appropriate field strongly preferred. Also requires two years experience providing academic learning support for undergraduate students in a university setting or two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of collegiate learning strategies and methodologies for individuals and groups. Requires good computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask under busy office conditions; and the ability to deal with a variety of situations with discretion and confidentiality. Requires proficiency with the administration of various types of learning assessments such as the LASSI, LSI, and Armstrong Multiple Intelligences Inventory. Experience working with students with learning disabilities, especially reading psychological assessments and developing individual academic plans for students with learning disabilities, is preferred.
