Duties/Responsibilities:
Abilities/Skills:
Must have the ability to navigate a fast paced and intense environment that requires meeting deadlines for multiple tasks. Must have the ability to effectively communicate task related needs to multiple resource providers. Must have computer software applications skills to develop written reports, graphs and tables. Must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping. Must be able to teach academic success strategies. Must have conflict management and interpersonal skills that maximize success in communicating with individuals from a diverse background. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including regular nights and weekends.
Responsibilities are approximately 75% tutoring; 25% advising/other (include but not limited to):
ò Assist in the supervision, creation, and oversight of study hall/tutoring appointments, including daily changes to tutoring appointments
ò Track tutor requirements for CRLA certification
ò Develop and present tutor workshops as necessary
ò Assist with tutor recruiting, application process, interviewing, orientations, & evaluations
ò Communicate with tutors about upcoming events and deadlines
ò Track and develop reports on students' usage of tutors
ò Determine the academic support needs of an assigned group of student athletes through regular one-on-one consultation meetings, monitor and report behavior in a structured study environment, and report grades given by instructors.
ò Assist ASPSA Academic Coordinators by creating written reports that articulate student athlete academic course progress, structured study attendance and behavior.
ò Co-teach one section of University Studies Course (USC) designed to support first year student athletes in their transition from high school through the first year of college studies.
ò Complete special projects requiring data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience:
Must have completed a bachelor's degree and master's degree from an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to those who have completed a master's degree in the fields of education, higher education administration or leadership, college student personnel, psychology, sociology, and/or sport management; Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of one-year experience in intercollegiate athletics and a sincere interest in athletic academic support as a profession; Experience supervising young adults in an educational setting; Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, particularly in the area of compliance (extra benefits), and academic integrity regulations.
