Developmental Mathematics Instructor
San Jacinto College North, Houston, TX
Salary: Salary based on 2008-2009 Board approved salary schedule for instructional personnel.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Nine (9) month position
Class and office hours
Thirty-five (35) hours per week
Teach five or more (15 hours +) developmental mathematics courses per semester (lecture or computer-based, and at least one class in the evening).
Devote a portion of conference time working with developmental students in the tutoring center.
Significant portion in shared governance, committee assignments, student organizations and professional development is expected.
Requirements:
Master's degree required.
Secondary (grades 6-12) teaching experience or developmental college teaching experience required.
The Master's degree or the Bachelor's must be in a field related to the teaching assignment, in elementary education, secondary education or another related field in education provided the degree holder also has an elementary, secondary, all-level or a related teaching certificate from a state (any state).
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics preferred. Minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Mathematics (content courses, not teaching methods courses) preferred.
Graduate training in Developmental Education preferred.
