Duties/Responsibilities: Position Summary:
Lone Star College-Tomball is an innovative and dynamic community college located northwest of Houston in Tomball, Texas. It is one of five colleges that comprise the Lone Star College System, one of the fastest growing community college districts in the state. The faculty member\'s role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications/Education Campus Specific:
Master's degree in Education or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Education. At least 3 to 5 years teaching experience, planning development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs.
Demonstrated interest and/or experience with diversity, interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies including collaborative learning, learning communities and distance learning.
Distance education certification or a commitment to obtain certification through Lone Star College System (or equivalent) within 12 months of employment. Experience using variety of delivery methods and technologies. Teaching experience (secondary or higher education)
Preferred Qualifications/Education:
Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a second field (besides Education) Bachelor's degree in education, foreign language, ESOL, linguistics, educational administration or related field
Experience in program development and evaluation, curriculum writing, instructional supervision, staff development and budget monitoring.
Management and Educational Administration experience
Curriculum development experience. Program specific knowledge as well as expertise in curriculum and proposal writing, program development and evaluation, and staff training and supervision acquired through formal training as part of a Master of Education or similar degree, or through extensive business experience are necessary skills to bring to the position. Bi-lingual. Community college teaching experience.
