Georgia Southern Faculty Research Grant Charles Reavis, John O'Sullivan The purpose of this research project is to learn if the creation of a host culture aids in the implementation of the Working on the Work (WOW) school improvement program. The problem this research will address is that of scaling up. The term scaling up refers to the process of the transfer of successful programs in one school to a different school. Scaling up of successful programs has been and remains a central problem in the effort to improve schools. As defined for the purpose of this research, a host culture is one that is compatible with the goals of the successful program a school is attempting to scale up. It is anticipated that this research will open up a new area of support for the scaling up of successful programs.
