Glaze presents at AAAS in February

Amanda Glaze, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education, presented at the 2018 American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting alongside Ann Reid, Ph.D., director of the National Center for Science Education (NCSE).

Glaze and Reid spoke about effective communication on the socially controversial topics including evolution and climate change. NCSE has worked to craft an approach to community science outreach specifically on these topics, and during the workshop they provided the no-conflict approach which emphasizes respect, common values, local relevance and fun.
