The Betty-Ware Wray staff award is given annually to a College of Education (COE) staff member who has excelled in their job performance as well as University service. The 2016 award recipient was CATES Administrative Specialist Lisa Wilson. Wilson has been an employee of the COE Dean’s Office since 2013 and is responsible for facilitating off-campus graduate courses, PLU credit, and curriculum and catalog support. She also serves as the webmaster for the College.

Staff members are nominated for this award by COE faculty, staff, and students, and the nominations are reviewed by the Staff Advisory Council. Nominations for Wilson included comments about her pleasant disposition and dedicated work efforts.

In one nomination letter, the writer indicated that “Lisa jumps in and supports whatever needs to be done and does it all with a smile on her face.”

Another stated, “I have never worked with a person who gives as much attention to detail as she does.”

Wilson expressed that she was honored to be the 2016 recipient of the Betty-Ware Wray award.

“I am blessed to work in a place with so many talented individuals,” said Wilson.

The Betty-Ware Wray staff award honors the memory of former COE Student Services staff member Betty-Ware Wray. Wray’s in-laws established the award to honor Wray and her legacy as a beloved member of the COE family.
