Earlier this year, Georgia Southern University announced changes to the commencement ceremonies to begin spring 2019 and going forward. The College of Education (COE) is excited for the opportunity to recognize each graduate individually during its college-specific ceremony and acknowledge the academic achievements of all Eagle Educators graduating this spring.

The College of Education ceremony will take place on Friday, May 10 at 1 p.m. in the Savannah Convention Center (click here for assistance with directions).  Students are asked to arrive at noon to line up according to their degree level (bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, doctoral). Parents may arrive at noon and enter the Exhibit A and B rooms.

Doctoral candidates are asked to carry their hood with them to the stage draped across their right arm so that they can be hooded on stage by their dissertation chair. All other students completing a graduate degree are asked to wear their hoods when recognized individually. Volunteers will be available during graduating candidate line up if students need assistance with their hoods or graduation attire.

The ceremony will last no more than 90 minutes, and attendees are asked to exit immediately concluding the ceremony to meet graduates outside of the Savannah Convention Center.

All guests of a graduate are welcome and invited to attend. No tickets are required for entry.

**Please note that any graduating students and guests that would like complimentary transportation to a College ceremony will need to make a reservation by completing the University’s Commencement Transportation Request form. Reservations must be completed by April 19, 2019.
