M.A.T. Health and Physical Education Program Outcomes

  • STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME 1: Master of Arts in Teaching Health and Physical Education teacher candidates know and apply discipline-specific scientific and theoretical concepts critical to the development of physically educated individuals.
  • STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME 2: Master of Arts in Teaching Health and Physical Education teacher candidates plan using appropriate learning standards, effective strategies, and knowledge of learner development to address the needs of all students.
  • STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME 3: Master of Arts in Teaching Health and Physical Education teacher candidates will plan, instruct, assess, and create a safe learning environment to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME 4: Master of Arts in Teaching Health and Physical Education teacher candidates will apply professional skills and dispositions required for initial teacher certification in P-12 learning environments.
  • STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME 5: Master of Art in Health and Physical Education teacher candidates will be physically literate individuals who can demonstrate skillful performance in physical education content areas and health-enhancing levels of fitness.
