Katie Brkich, Ph.D.

Lacey Huffling, Ph.D.

Katie Brkich, Ph.D.,  associate professor, and Lacey Huffling, Ph.D., assistant professor, both in the Department of Teaching and Learning, had an article published in the July 2017 edition of Science and Children, the National Science Teacher’s Association’s elementary practitioner journal.

The article, written along with Melony Allen and Catherine Matthews, details a week-long summer camp experience at Georgia Southern University hosted by Brkich and Huffling in summer 2016. “Hop to It” summer camps provided you females with authentic, hands-on science experiences and encouraged interest in STEM fields. The herpetology-focused experience was held for 4th-6th grade girls.
