Richard Cleveland, Ph.D.

Richard Cleveland, Ph.D.
, assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Technology and Human Development, and recent College of Education graduate Charlotte Prater (M.Ed. School Counseling,’17) co-authored an article for the Georgia School Counselor Association’s spring 2018 release of the Beacon, the association’s semi-annual educational magazine that provides school counselors with how-to articles and addresses issues seen in their work on a daily basis. Cleveland and Prater’s article detailed a data-based intervention Prater implemented at a local high school in the region, supporting pregnant and parenting teens in the schools. Specifically, her program was based off of individual and school site data, utilized services across a multi-level (i.e., response to intervention, or RTI) model, and involved collaboration with community agencies.
