Harris guest lectures virtual class for Southwest China University

The class provided Harris with a collage of some of the participants in her virtual class held July 2021.

This summer, Kymberly Harris, Ph.D., associate professor of special education in the Department of Elementary and Special Education, was invited to guest lecture a course on teaching methods and assessment for the students at Southwest China University.

Harris taught the course virtually in July discussing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as well as shared additional research and perspectives on teaching students with disabilities in the the United States.

Former visiting faculty member Xiaoling Jiang, Ph.D., invited Harris to teach the course.

“All students at this University are required to take one class taught entirely in English,” explained Harris. “Dr Jiang invited me to teach the course, and it was an awesome experience.”
