Social Studies Storytelling in Statesboro

Discover the Stories of Statesboro with our Digital Walking Tour

Welcome to our digital walking tour of downtown Statesboro, Georgia! Our tour highlights the rich history and untold stories associated with important historical sites in the community.

About Our Tour

Our digital walking tour was created by undergraduate students in Dr. Ariel Cornett’s Elementary Social Studies Methods Course at Georgia Southern University in the College of Education, along with public history experts Dr. Brent Tharp (Director of the Georgia Southern University Museum and Vice President of the Bulloch County Historical Society) and Ms. Lillian Wingate (Regional Genealogy and Local History Coordinator at the Statesboro Bulloch County Library). The tour showcases student-curated sources such as photographs, audio, and local newspaper articles, as well as student-written informational text and educational experiences for learners of all ages.
